Sawyer and Jeri both work on Second Chance Ranch. She's in construction, helping bring the ranch back to life. He's a cowboy mainly working with the horses, but all the other critters, too. They are attracted to each other, but until Jeri walks into his house in a case of mistaken house identity they had kinda scooted around each other. Things move quickly after that, a marriage of convenience, mostly him helping her, but also him hoping for the real thing. But apparently the real thing can't be rushed and their relationship turns rocky. Learning to love each other is tough, learning to heal from past hurts and mistakes, even harder. Jeri and Sawyer are a wonderful, loving pair of people, and watching them become a loving couple was terrific.
Burnt by a past relationship, not fighting for what was right, all culminates into not knowing what to do now. It was great to read how she unravelled the past to go forward.
A wonderful story about second chances at Last Chance. Good strong characters. Jericho and Sawyer were marvelous, can't wait to read the next book in this series!
Last Chance Ranch lets us see into the lives & feelings of two more of it's family as Jeri and Sawyer try to help each other out. While spending time together, feelings for each other surface and they find that they have to take care of unfinished business before they can move into a lasting relationship. Are they willing to put that much effort into clearing away the rubble that has accumulated?How many times do we run through life without taking the time to really see what the Lord wants us to learn? We push & push with our eyes closed to what is really important. All of the things we have run past begin to avalanche around us and we wonder what happened. Decisions we made in such haste that we didn't really see what was going on, now they explode at our feet in order to get our attention. Jeri has run from so many uncomfortable decisions that it has become a way of life. But now she has to face them before she is free to move ahead.I LOVE a well written book that actually has substance to it and that will make me think and open my eyes instead of just entertaining me for a few hours. Liz is an author who can do both. She writes a story that pulls me in to the point that it is hard to put down and leaves me with a warm satisfied feeling when it is finished; but it also opens my eyes and makes me think. She hires Jeri Bell as the general contractor to handle the construction projects, with the use of an on-site cabin as part of the agreement. Sawyer lives in the cabin next door, but it isn’t until Jeri accidentally goes into his cabin instead of her own that their attraction for one another becomes obvious.Both are mature and the sparks between the two are immediate, but Jeri is coming off of a bad marriage and an even worse engagement. Her heart has been broken and her business destroyed so she needs to overcome her reluctance to get involved with another man. Until she realizes she needs him to help her restart his construction career. They have issues to work out but, after Jeri melts down, she needs to address her past before she can move forward with her career and her relationship with Sawyer.I loved the fact that Jeri recognized that she had issues that she needed to face. It's sometimes difficult to accept that just continuing doing what you've been doing isn't going to get you where you want to be. Sometimes we have to leave our comfort zone.I received a copy of this book as an ARC from the author. The opinion below is my own. This is the third book in the series and some of the events run parallel to the other two books.
This is the story of Jeri Bell and Sawyer Smith. Jeri is a carpenter on the Last Chance Ranch and Sawyer takes care of a little bit of everything. Jeri had a construction company but lost it and her contractor's license. She thinks she can get the license she needs to continue working at the Last Chance Ranch if she can get married and change her name. Sawyer asks Jeri to go with him to a family picnic as a favor. They both have some feelings for each other and she asks him to do her a favor to get married so she can use his last name for her contractor's license. The marriage is supposed to last only a couple months and not be a real marriage. Of course, complications arise and misunderstandings. This story takes place somewhat along the same timeline as the previous book but you don't have to read the other two to know what's happening with the other couples but it would enhance the reading of it. I like how Liz Isaacson is able to bring life lessons into her stories.The book is a clean, sweet Christian romance without the preaching. I received an advance copy and am leaving my honest review.

She asks and he accepts for her to go as his date. A small kiss before going in, and those at the window. An interesting story, there is lot to .Jeri, she sounds like an interesting person, and carrying a lot of baggage. About time something good and positive comes for her. This was waiting for me from a preorder when I got home last night, and I curled up on the couch to begin reading, forced myself to bed, then got up and just devoured the rest on this rainy morning. This book is exactly what I needed at this point of my life and it asked all those sharp questions that caused my heart to pound and tears to well up and really poked me to think about things I needed to think about again. It’s one of those books that at first feels like it’s saying things you “already know -eyeroll-“ and then you close it and realize you feel like your heart got punched.
This book is the ultimate guide in un-storying myself in the most compassionate, tender and fun way possible so that I show up every day living my life. Not someone else's version of my life. Each chapter is designed in such a way that I am able to journal my answers to questions to help me unlock beliefs that are keeping me stuck or unkind to myself. I was moved by the author's personal story which helped me identify my own shame and doubts (especially raw and loved were the vulnerable chapters about addiction and cheating). Amber Rae skillfully marries wonder and worry, so that wisdom is born. The book shows me how I can do that too. And reminds me I am not alone. It is a book I will keep coming back to again and again.
I love these types of books where they let you examine your life and go deep into the problems that we need to deal within ourselves. I’m all for self help books. And books like this one where they give you exercises and drawings and journal prompts! I wish all books were this fun.

I'm obsessed with this book, because it's real, vulnerable, and raw. Amber doesn't hold back to share her truth and her journey in dealing with the difficult emotions of her life. She's relatable and funny, but what's more is that she's REAL, and not afraid to explore darker aspects of the psyche. I recommend this book for anyone who is looking to deal with anxiety, stress, and fear, and wants to understand how to reach their next level of potential, how to stay open to the realm of possibilities, of WONDER. I saw a picture of this book on Raw + Revolution's IG page and it instantly struck a deep chord in my sou and I knew I was meant to read it. I discovered this book at a turning point in my life and truly believe it was a sign from the Universe. I had seen this referred to in the bibliographies of several books about photographic history so I decided to buy one, good copies are obviously still available and for a reasonable price though if you want one with a jacket it'll push the cost up. Published in 1951 with 194 color photos I think it's an impressive title.The sub-head to the book is: 'A treasury of color photography by the staff photographers of Vogue, House & Garden and Glamour'. I doubt any of the seventeen featured in the book were employed full-time on the three influential magazines published by Conde Nast but I think the contents really do reflect the nature of color work at mid-century. Art photography was in black and white, color was used for advertising and editorial, a view that really didn't change until the mid-seventies when MoMA introduced Eggleston's color work to a very sceptical audience.Look through these pages and you'll some first-class color photography, admittedly these images aren't personal artistic statements but editorial commissions, still highly creative of course. The index lists the photographers under these headings: Experimentation; Fashion; Figures; Illustration; Interiors; Landscapes; Portraits, reportage; Still-life. The back pages provide short tech-specs for each photo and some interesting points are revealed. Erwin Blumenfeld's famous lips and eye Vogue cover was actually a black and white image with the color created by the engravers. Two photos by Herbert Matter and Richard Rutledge both had people added later to the photos by the engravers. These were skilled technicians at color correction and retouching decades before Photoshop.The book was designed and edited by Conde Nast's Art Director Alexander Liberman and it reflects contemporary publication design back in the fifties. Unfortunately the printing uses a 133 screen (printed today it would be 175 to 250) rather than something finer which the photos really deserve. Despite that I think this is a lovely reminder of great color work from the past.

The only concern that I had was that a few very helpful forms that were offered in the end of the book: Travel Management Status Calculator, Travel Management Flight Plan Worksheet and Travel management Return on Investment Expander were neither printable nor viewable (they were too small/impossible to read even if printed). And there was no link offered in my kindle version to these forms online. Otherwise it was a great and helpful read for anyone who is just starting or simply refining their corporate travel management program.

I am new to the region and wanted some basic starter info on possible cross country ski areas. This gave me a starting point. The Eastern Sierra is an excellent, but underappreciated area to ski. The cold east side has fresher snow than the western side of the Sierra. However, since there's only one main road (395) and few passes open in winter, it's not visited a lot.The book covers 78 tours in 184 pages in the Eastern Sierra/Owens Valley area from Bridgeport (N. of Mono Lake) south to Bishop Creek. This includes the Mammoth area and Rock Creek area, both with developed and backcountry XC ski areas.It's a great book, but I wish it had an index. The Tioga Pass area could use more coverage. But what it does cover still makes it a terrific guidebook!
