This is a collection of papers on the topic collected and edited by Mica Endsley.It is a great book, but just be aware of what it is.It is definitely worth a read.
This book is the bible on Situational Awareness. Dr. Endsley compiled the "go to" book on the subject. I also recommend Designing for Situation Awareness: An Approach to User-Centered Design.
This book is a collection of papers that address exactly what the title implies - how to analyze and measure situation awareness qualities of systems. The most obvious uses for this specialized human factors discipline is in safety-critical combat systems, with a good deal of the body of knowledge coming from military and commercial aviation. My perspective is different - I purchased this book to glean knowledge and techniques for application in the design of large scale IT systems management. I was not disappointed.This three part, 16 chapter book starts with a brief introduction to situation awareness theory and concepts, and gives a synopsis of the current body of knowledge and state of the art.Part II covers measurement approaches with nine chapters (each are individual papers written by experts in their respective fields), that cover topics ranging from the use of SA in critical incident reports to testing and metrics. I found two thirds of these papers helpful to my narrow purposes, which are outside of the SA field. That alone speaks highly of the book and the wide applicability of the material it addresses. Part III addressed special topics, and of the five papers I found four directly applicable to my learning objectives.As I was reading this book it because apparent that SA is a topic that touches disciplines outside of the domain in which it's traditionally used. For example, a software game designer (which I am not) could learn much about developing user interfaces that maximize the user experience. On the business side, developers who design decision support systems would find many of the ideas and concepts extremely useful, as would any analyst or developer who is designing advanced user interfaces (hardware or software) for interactive systems. In my opinion this book is a hidden gem that changed my thinking and approach about situation awareness on a number of levels. I also recommend "The Power of Events: An Introduction to Complex Event Processing in Distributed Enterprise Systems" by David Luckham as a companion to this book for readers who are in software and hardware engineering disciplines

OK..............I admit that I have never been to Patsy's yet, BUT that doesn't disqualify me from knowing this cookbook. It's the best; why, do you ask? Well, I'd be delighted to compose for you.I am Italian......pure 100%, on both sides, and with enough background to talk about everything that means anything to our culture. I grew up in the 60's and 70's when Frank and Dean were THE only reason for watching TV. I know that it was a turbulent decade, full of discovery and change and restlessness. But some things felt OK and this book tells you about it.On Sundays, the whole extended family would gather at "Nonni's" house (grandparents). Because of the value and love of our food prepared in its purest form, it took about 14 calls between my mom, her sisters, and my Nonna, to figure out who was bringing what (and with 8 daughters, Illinois Bell made a huuuuuge profit from them). The food was simple and fresh and magic.This is "Patsy's Cookbook" whole purpose.The stories that accompany the book are a blast from the past. The pictures that accompany the stories and recipes are even better because if you close your eyes and think about it, you can picture yourself walking down the street, seeing the restaurant sign, and looking forward to opening the door and having all the scents and aromas hit you full force.All the "regulars" and the stars that have dined there get a good mention; the engagements that were proposed there; the celebrations that were created there. I ordered this for my husband, After 1-year of being the only person to check it out from a local library, I would bring it back and then check it out. I figure that Patsy's had to be added to our collection of cook book's. Every Sunday my husband cook's a family dinner from Patsy's , Coming from a very traditional Italian family Sunday meals are very important. We found this to be one of the best Italian cook books out there. Highly recommend.
Waste of my money and grossly over priced. I was looking for Italian cooking recipes for us folks in the real world. Instead I just got too much of New York Yazz and far too many comments from Dead celebrities. There's maybe 3 recipes in this book I'll try. Over all don't waste your money.
What a wonderful cook book. Recipes are wonderful, and fairley easy - the Chicken Parm is great! But,, this is MORE than a cookbook - the stories told by the owners of what goes on (and who comes in), are fabulous!!Especially of note is Frank Sinatra's relationship to the place!Loved it, made some of the meals - hope i can visit one day!

I feel like this book taught me how to cook! I've even been fortunate enough to have supper at Patsy's and Sal Scognamillo could not have been a more gracious host! Best martini ever there!
Love this book !
I bought this book on the strength of the many reviews that praised it. After reading it, however, I felt like I had just read a paid advertisement. At first, the references to Sinatra held a certain fascination and made me feel like an "insider." However, page after page of cloyingly sweet testimonials, written in a style that makes one feel that you are reading PR instead of candid comments, leaves a bad taste. There are also repetitious references to the original Patsy, in his grey waiter's suit, refilling bread baskets. Patsy sounded genuine, but I'm not so sure about his successors. By the end of the book, all of this mushy testament, perhaps unfairly, detracted from the interest in the recipes. I was left with the impression that this was a place that was treading on past glories and I decided to see what others had to say. I looked at the customer reviews on the web for those who had recently dined at Patsy's and at least half of the reviews (from non-celebrities) reflected rude service from the front desk and serving staff and premium prices. There are some interesting recipes in this book but I just can't help thinking that Patsy's shot themselves in the foot with the way this book is written. I like to read cookbooks, particularly those with a story to tell, but I couldn't wait to put this one away.

He again showcases his impressive ability to explain difficult concepts and trace complex arguments with seeming ease. Matthew, John, Luke-Acts, Romans/Galatians and Hebrews are covered. The title chapters by themselves give helpful clues as to how exactly Thielman sees the function of each chapter toward the question of interest: What level of continuity is there with the Mosaic Law now that the eschatological event of the death and resurrection of Christ has broken into history? Thielman finds both continuity and discontinuity, but (rightly in my opinion) concludes that the stress is laid on the discontinuity. I've never even considered writing a review as harsh as this will, but I can't emphasize that you should NOT waste your money on this so-called "book."Let me start by saying the this book should never have been published. It's amateurish at best, and an insult to the buyer at worst. This might be understandable if M.O. Cuddley was a high school freshman, but that's not the case. Even if you have no clue about what Office 365 is, do not buy this book!Please read the posted description, don't skim like I did. If I had, I would've avoid wasting my money on it. The first sentence is an excellent indication of what you can expect from this book. It reads: "This book is for the Office 365 Administrator who will like a quick and straight to the point, step-by-step guide to Office 365 administration." Yes, mistakes happen, but when it happens in the very first sentence of a book's description - a description that is written to provide potential buyers an idea as to what they can expect - and then is repeated numerous times, take the hint and look for another book.Okay, you might say, "Yeah, that's bad, but it's only one issue." Before we move onto the actual content, consider a couple other points. My rough guess is that 75% of the book contains nothing but screenshots. What text here is is triple spaced and doesn't provide the reader with any information he or she wouldn't discover by logging onto Office 365 and walking through the configuration themselves. (I've attached a pic of a couple of pages I randomly opened to in this book so you can see exactly what I'm referring to. It isn't the sharpest, but you'll get the idea).Regarding the content, this book's title, "Microsoft Office 365: An Admin Guide - From Novice to Expert!" - is nothing of the sort. First, it is not an administrative guide. Administrative guides contained detailed, technical information, none of which is in this book. Second, using the word "expert" with respect to any aspect of this book is a farce.I won't be returning this book or trying to resell it; I wouldn't do that to someone else. After finish this, I'll be dropping it in the garbage. This might not be a diplomatic or polite review, but I didn't want to mince words and have someone else duped into wasting their money like I unfortunately did.
Too vague and not enough depth....
So far so good, I have not read from start to finish. Instead, I use it more as a reference and for that it works well!
I just received this book and while the content seems useful, page numbering has been omitted. While the table of contents lists topics with actual page numbers, there's no way to go to a specific page.Very odd. Perhaps a printing anomaly... Not sure if I'm going to keep it.
