The story of Pearl, a native of Summers County, WV, who led an amazing life, becoming an accomplished Pilot, when females did not do that kind of thing and through sheer determination, became a very educated women, a famous pilot, WASP and an accomplished educator. Not only did she accomplish these things, but she was also a fantastic mother. My hat’s off to Deanna for bringing Pearl’s story to life for everyone to enjoy.
This was a lovely book. It really showed how special Pearl was. Having heard about her for many years through my very special friend, Libby, it was so nice to really know her whole story. She shows how strong and resilient a woman can be. I’m sure she is still soaring high above us all!
Great story about a life of a courageous women with very little boundaries on what she can accomplish. Smart and determined, lived her life not to step on anyone or say something bad about someone. A real accomplished human person. Love to you and her family for Bragging about her.

She wasn't limited by what others thought it considered to be the norm. She dated to follow her passion and sacrificed much to succeed. I think anyone would enjoy this book, teens, women, and men.

This book is magnificent! Each picture is its own little world with its own mystery and theme. But, that isn't what you want to know. This book features nudity of women in various fantasy outfits. The tops are revealed, the bottoms are revealed and between the legs are revealed (in some pics). Some of the models are famous adult actresses...the rest, I am not sure who they are but they still look great. You will be hard pressed to find any model in this book that is average to below average. They are all women that dreams are made from. If you like eroticism mixed with fantasy then this book is for you! I would highly recommend it!
I thought that 'Hard Reaction' was a perfect choice for the front cover of this collection as it says it all, and the back cover is definitely not an angel.This book is very adult which is not surprising after seeing the cover. It is crammed full with extremely beautiful, buxom ladies who, mostly are as bare as the day they were born.As you turn the pages you will find an array of excruciatingly beautiful paintings of women, some with their monster pets or decended to the pits of Hell, some used as toys, others in cages like birds or proned to using gadgets, ladies of the night (vampires), some want to kick ass or play fun and games. I found myself more disappointed in this book the more I read. It turned out to be mainly the author’s vent on ecclesiastical issues he finds disturbing, although he does make some valid points. At times, it read more like a stilted thesis, lacking flow and readability, and at times, it used a sarcastic tone. There were many misused commas also. I think the book is useful to give the reader ideas to consider and ponder, but not to build faith, encourage, or inspire. I didn’t find much I could take away and keep.
I came across Douglas Wilson several years ago. He says what needs to be said. In my view, he is graciously firm and not lacking in thoughtfulness. There is a sense of urgency in getting out the message that our worship pf God should not be casual and there is also a sense that God has mercy on us as we plod through this with minds and hearts that do desire to obey. I both enjoyed reading it and trembled before God at how great a matter worship is.
For anyone that doesnt know why you do the things you do on Sunday you need to read this. Doug hits on several weak points in the modern church. This is a great book for anyone in leadership to find greater meaning in what we are doing on the Lords Day.
I don't agree with Doug's understanding on the covenant but overall very needed little book. Chapters on Thundering the Word and the Lord's Supper are very good.
This book is edifying in so many ways and it inspires with warmth and wit. I recommend this to anyone wishing to see Christ's Bride flourish in this generation to a thousand generations.
Doug Wilson always has good thought provoking books. This one is not disappointing.
Yes it’s an excellent book but I have a hard time giving it five stars like the other readers. The title is pretty misleading and he mentions the high church Puritan in the subtitle but it’s only one chapter in a very small book. Almost thin enough to be a booklet. Really it is asking for covenant renewal as a response to individualism. Proper worship does not seem to be the driving force but a backdrop. That being said for what he does talk about he has good points.
